God Loves You and Wants You to have a Continuing Love Relationship with Him that is Real and Personal.

Rev. 3:20

(Jesus is speaking) Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

The Bible calls this relationship knowing God.

John 17:3

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Knowing God is the ultimate privilege and priority of life.

Jeremiah 9:23-24

Thus says the Lord:

"Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,

Let not the mighty man glory in his might,

Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;

But let him who glories glory in this,

That he understands and knows Me,

That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.

For in these I delight," says the Lord.

Luke 10:20

Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."

But our sin makes it impossible for us to know God.

Romans 3:23

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

We have all sinned.

Ephesians 2:12

that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God (didn’t know God) in the world.

We are all separated from God by our sin and therefore cannot know Him.

The penalty for not knowing God is death.

Romans 6:23

   For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Spiritual Death

Separation from God in this life.

Ephesians 2:1

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

Eternal Death

Separation from God in eternity.

Matthew 7:21-23

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

God has made it possible for us to know Him through the death of His only Begotten Son, Jesus, on the cross.

1 Cor. 15:3-4

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

1 Peter 3:18

For Christ also suffered once (for all time)for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

We come to know God by faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Faith is taking God at His word and acting accordingly.

John 14:6

  Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Acts 4:12

  Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

 Romans 10:9 & 13

 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  

 For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

If you are willing to turn from your sin (repentance) and put your faith in Christ as your Lord and Savior, simply pray a prayer similar to this one.

Dear God,

 I know that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died to forgive me of my sins and rose from the dead to give me eternal life. Please Jesus, come into my heart and become my Lord and Savior. I accept your free gift of eternal life. I surrender my life to you. Make me the kind of person that you want me to be. Thank you Jesus for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.

God knows your heart and if this prayer expressed the desire of your heart then Jesus has come into your heart, you are forgiven all of your sin and you have eternal life.

1 John 5:13

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
